What determines the price?
- Garden size and amount of planting (lawn, borders, hedges)
- Backlog: an overgrown garden needs a catch-up visit first
- Accessibility: a back entrance saves carrying through the house
- Removal of pruning and green waste (container or own bin)
- Frequency: a fixed maintenance round is cheaper per visit than one-offs
- Region: Randstad rates run 10-20% higher

Frequently asked questions
What does garden maintenance by a professional cost?
A single maintenance visit for an average city garden costs € 40 to € 80; specialist work is charged per hour at € 40 to € 60. Within a maintenance subscription (fixed route from March to October) the per-visit rate runs some 10-15% lower. The price mainly depends on garden size, planting and backlog.
What is the difference between a one-off visit and a maintenance subscription?
With a one-off visit the gardener comes once and you pay the full rate. With a subscription your garden joins a fixed round: the same professional, a fixed rhythm (usually monthly in season) and a per-visit rate some 10-15% lower because travel time is spread across the route.
What is the difference between a 'hovenier' and a 'tuinman'?
'Hovenier' is the Dutch professional term: a trained gardener who prunes, plants and maintains with knowledge of species and seasons. 'Tuinman' is the everyday word for the same role. On this platform we use the professional term; everyone is vetted the same way.
Is a request really free and without obligation?
Yes. Submitting a request costs nothing and commits you to nothing. You receive up to 3 quotes and choose yourself: or no one, that's fine too. Prices and payment are arranged directly with the gardener.
How fast will I get a response?
Gardeners in your region respond as soon as possible with a price indication. In the peak months (March-April and October-November) it can take slightly longer: book a big visit well ahead.
Are the professionals vetted?
Yes. We verify Chamber of Commerce registration and business liability insurance before a company receives requests. Customer reviews factor into matching.
What happens to my data?
Your details are shared only with the (up to 3) gardeners matched to your request. We never resell your data and automatically delete requests after the legal retention period. See our privacy policy.
Is pruning and green waste removed?
That is agreed up front. Many gardeners remove green waste for a surcharge (container or trailer); leaving clippings in your own garden-waste bin is cheaper. State your preference in the request and it will be part of the quote.
When is the best time for pruning?
The main moments are spring (March-April, shaping and season start) and autumn (October-November, winter-proofing). Hedges usually need two rounds a year. Always check for nesting birds before pruning and leave an occupied nest alone.
Do you also do full garden landscaping or renovation?
No, deliberately not: this platform is about garden maintenance. Small adjustments — replanting a border, replacing a small tree — are part of a regular visit, but full landscaping or renovation is a different trade with a different quoting process.
Do you also work for HOAs and businesses?
Yes. For HOAs, offices and business premises there are green-maintenance contracts with fixed frequency, a single invoice and a report per round. Choose 'Commercial property or HOA' in the request.
What if I'm not satisfied with a gardener?
Let us know via our contact form. We take complaints seriously: companies with recurring complaints or without valid insurance are removed from the platform.
